Sacrament of Confirmation - Tuesday 20th May
Confirmation is a special step for our baptised children, where they'll receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and make a deeper commitment to their faith. Confirmation confirms Baptism and is the second formal step in the process of becoming initiated into the Christian community.
Students in Years 3-6 will soon begin preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation which will be celebrated on 20th May at 6:00pm. By preparing for Confirmation, students will learn more about being part of our church community.
If you would like your child to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, it is a good time to check that the school has a copy of their Baptism Certificate.
We'll be sharing more details about the preparation process soon. If you have any queries please contact your child’s class teacher, or Hannah Gorman hannah.gorman@lism.catholic.edu.au.
We're looking forward to guiding our students on this wonderful journey of faith!
Bishop Greg’s Lenten talks
Bishop Greg’s final Lenten talk for 2025 will be held this Monday 24th March at 6pm. It will be available to view on the Lismore Diocese YouTube channel. For those who couldn't view them, or if you'd like to revisit them, the first two Lenten talks are available on the Diocese of Lismore YouTube page. I highly recommend taking the time to watch them.

Student Expectations & Values: The St Mary’s Way
This week, our school leaders again chose to focus on one of the most important aspects of the St Mary's Way: respect. This week, the focus is on sportsmanship. They'd love to see everyone showing great sportsmanship by playing games and sports for fun during breaks, making sure everyone, no matter their ability, feels welcome to join in, and understanding that learning to lose helps us grow. During breaks it is also important to respect the decisions made by umpires or the majority, demonstrating fairness and good character.

Harmony Day Celebrations
Today was Harmony Day and what a wonderful opportunity it has been for our students to learn about the incredible diversity that makes our school so special! We look forward to building on this foundation, continuing to celebrate our cultural richness and ensuring that every student feels accepted, belongs, and is welcomed.
A particular thank you goes out to the families who volunteered their time today to share something special from their culture! We're so grateful for your involvement.
Best regards,
Hannah Gorman
